This past Thursday I started back to my normal Thursday morning meeting in Blue Ash, Ohio. It was AWESOME, it was so good to see Sue (the incredible leader) and all my old friends. It was quite the flashback for me...walking back into that meeting reminded me of the very first time I walked in at 340 pounds and here I am 2 years later with a lot of the same wonderful people 130 pounds lighter.
I have been to a few other meetings recently and they are all good but there is nothing like my 930a meeting. Sue is a VERY unique leader who has done remarkable things in her own weight loss journey and inspires everyone around her along with making us all smile at the same time. If you are ever looking for a great WW meeting in Cincinnati...Blue Ash 930a on Thursdays.
Most Amazing invention Ever???? I recently was reading a WW magazine and there was a recipe in it for a spicy chicken breast. It called for a "Ziploc Zip n Steam" bag. I had never used them before but went and bought a box of them and I am so HOOKED on them now!!! You can steam veggies, fish, chicken and a lot more in them and the result is delicious!
My favorite recipe right now is very simple and yummy. I put a small chicken breast in the bag pour some red pepper flakes and franks hot wing sauce in the bag. I then put it in the microwave for 3 minutes and out comes something VERY tasty!
I am not big on New Years resolutions but I can tell from my e-mail spam inbox that everyone wants to lose weight and lose it fast without any effort. I am getting emails everyday about how I can eat "fatty foods that taste great" and still lose 20 pounds in a week.
I hate these kind of ads, they are at the very least misleading. I have tried every diet on the face of the earth and the it all comes down to the simple math equation. Reduced caloric intake and exercise = weight loss. Weight Watchers is the only program that has ever worked for me. It has truly been a life saver.
As far as NY resolutions...if they work for you, make a list and I hope 2010 will be our best year ever!
